01. Boys and Girls — Read This! - Here is a little quiz for you . . .

What is an earth jar?

What are sun prints?

What are number pictures?

What is a shelf tree?

The answers to these questions can be found in the pages of this book. And they are just the beginning of the fun that you will have by making the dozens of things explained here.

This is called an easyhandcraft book because everything in here is simple to make.

02. Make It for Your Home - An Indian makes an interesting drawing, and a note pad makes a useful item, so they ought to make a very good project together.

Trace an Indian with a pencil on a piece of stiff cardboard. Make it from 6 to 8 inches tall. Be sure to include feathers, and other things common to an Indian of early days. He might even be holding a bow and arrow. Color the picture with crayons or water colors. Now cut the Indian out.

03. All Kinds of Picture Fun - First of all, cut your colored scraps of paper into small bits. Try not to make any of them larger than 1/4 inch across. Cut them into whatever shape you like. Odd shapes will make an interesting picture. Keep the different colors in separate little boxes. Now make a simple drawing on your sheet of dark paper with a pencil.

04. Nature Handcraft - Rock Roll.As a game for one or for many, set stones on the floor as obstacles. See if you can roll marbles between the stones without striking them.

Bird Bath Rest.Place a pan of water in the yard. Set a rock in the center so a bird can stand on it and easily get at the water.

Paper Weight.Find smooth and attractive stones which can be used as desk paperweights. Maybe the older members of your family can use them in their business. If you like, you can wash and color them.

05. Make It and Wear It - Here is how to make the first link. Cut out a piece of newspaper about 5 by 8 inches. Fold it over lengthwise so that the strip is now about l1/4 inch wide. Make a mark at the center of the folded strip. Fold the two ends over so that they each touch the center mark. Crease them down so that you now have doubled strips on both sides of the center mark.

06. Make It for Fun - Find small pictures of famous people — noted Americans like Washington and Lincoln, or noted musicians like Beethoven and Schubert. For church display, it would be a good idea to make noted folks like David Livingstone and Martin Luther. Choose any noted folks you like. You can probably find their pictures in dictionaries, encyclopedias, and history books
